  1. Once the Series Hybrid is up & running again, I need to come your way.... For some reason, the people LTDS seem to be not too happy with my converisons...
  2. Any replacement bulkheads, no matter how good looking, will find places that need work before fitting - you may want to consider galvanizing the thing as they are a @#$@# to take out and refit... By the sound of it, yours is repairable. Bon Courage !
  3. We had a 110 CSW with Mazda 3.5 Tdi & ZF Autobox and ran it everywhere. Standard 4 discs and never any problems. TBH, bit of a waste. Quality discs & pads should be more than up to the job.
  4. My Lady reads here, too, and that means if I'd write what we've spent on projects, I'll be lucky to sleep outside...
  5. Hmm.... Weird... No rod => No clutch operation
  6. Don't think so. Will be taken over in the "new" legislation most likely
  7. Goede Morgen Dirk ! Have a look around - recently a post on the same problem came by. With some creative solutions. Bush and / or splines most likely stuck on. Remove starter motor and give it a constant tensions and with hammer and wooden block bash away...
  8. They are serious money pits... You've proven to be a wise man !
  9. Mr. Bandog has a point... Both the 200 & 300 start generating heat within 2-3 minutes from start up..
  10. Have a look here : http://www.red90.ca/rovers/Heater/heater.html or here : and I can confirm, it works very, very well.....
  11. It really depends on how original etc. you want to keep the vehicle - and budget.. We have Canadian heaters in the vehicles and they make for hot vehicles, even in minus 20 C. However, it does mean serious mods to the bulkhead or some very, very clever building. The Webasto is a fine route - very efficient and direct heat from the start.
  12. LR has done weird & wonderful "one offs" and small batches of many things.... I'd be surprised if the VIN no will come up with much special... Pics could tell something...
  13. Without pics & details there is not a lot to be said.. LR SVO / SV have in the past created 6x6 and 6x4 vehicles, both with leaf & coil springs or various clients, mostly utility companies. Several were build for Overland companies, so LHD is not that unusual. The VIN may tell you something, but many were issued with standard No's. Parts for the 6x6 drive are not cheap - Foley's have a lot of parts. With the Foley pricetag..
  14. Welcome to the Madhouse. Yes - awesome pics and I really enjoy the Iran trips (go there for work). Friend of mine is in Turkey right now en route from Kazachstan to Holland. Thanks for posting ! P.S. Your English is better than mine..
  15. No idea - never used them. Had mine from FirstFour - they galvanized them upon request before powder coating Very happy with them.
  16. Like the man said, at times the engine & gearbox like each other so much they don't want to be parted.. Gentle help - pry bar, tapping - may help. Make sure you undid all the bolts.... Yes - it happens...
  17. Fautras is very, very good. We had ours for 15 years and it has done many, many miles.. We have one for sale.... UK any takers ? The Mrs. prefers using the Iveco for the many miles she does with usu 1 horse IT is just that the body is not ideal for horse transport and she'd used an Iveco with the IW Container and really liked it. Me ?? I'd prefer to go for a 7,5 ton one from the UK - and she has an HGV licence, too - but they are extremely expensive here and a pain to get homologated when importing one..
  18. Hmm..... Reading this last comment makes considering getting one build by IW not really tempting... Hopefully we can find a suitable container for normal money. Just got a quote from a French builder to make a IW look-a-like.. Need to sit down..
  19. Thank you guys for thinking with me on this - much appreciated ! 1 - We have a 5 tonne Iveco Daily that is in good condition and the Mrs really likes to drive. The 2.8 is a very good engine and easy to service etc. 2 - It is not easy to get the body homologated in France for horse transport 3 - The Mrs. has driven an Iveco with the IW Container body and she really liked it 4 - These ramps & angles are quite workable for our horses and the railings are a nice touch (below an Iveco) 5 - The IW body is about 1/2 tonne lighter than the present one 6 - Money. Getting a body build etc. is not cheap. IW UK is a bit vague if they can still make them (to order) and what money they want for that. We're talking to them but they don't seem too interested...
