  1. "JATE" Stands for "Joint Air Transport Establishment" which is based at RAF Brize Norton and the "rings" are in fact rectangular and designed to have slings attached to them in order for the Land Rover to be lifted as an under-slung load by Helicopters or tied-down within various Transport Aircraft or on Platfroms for parachute drops. As far as I am aware all Chassied Land Rovers are capable of having them fitted quite easily unless the mounting brackets have already been used for something else like a winch or towbar struts. Hope this helps. Cheers, Gunny
  2. Hi Marco, Whenever I've had to change bushes I've used a bench vice (4" Jaws) and a couple of suitably sized sockets. Works perfectly and doesn't cost a bean! Cheers, Gunny.
  3. Hi Lynall, Thanks. I'll try e-bay. I did try down loading the RAVE CD's from "Green-Oval.com" website but you have to download the image rather than the files(?). After several hours of trying I gave up last night. I'll let you know how I get on. Cheers, Gunny.
  4. I'm trying to install the wiring, relays etc. for a heated windscreen on my Discovery 300 Tdi. I've bought a Heated Front Screen Timer (PRC 6796), the dash switch (AMR 5177), connector plugs etc. necessary but haven't got a clue as to how to wire it all together. The dash switch has 5 connectors, Numbered 1-5, and the timer Relay has five spade connectors numbered, 2,4,5,6 & 8. The screen has two water-proof "socket" connector blocks, one at each bottom corner. Each of which has a live and earth lead. (I fitted 4 x Auxillary Lights to the Safety Devices Roof-rack with no problems and installed the relays into an IP54 junction box because I was fed up with having to replace the Fog and Driving lamp relays due to corrosion. These were originally fitted on the inner wing but are now tucked-up safe with the other relays in the IP54 box.) Could someone please help me with a diagram that an idiot could understand?
