  1. Nige Just buy one they are a great bit of kit but get the full kit with the controller as well helps stop hot spots as it circulates the water after turn off plus you can alter what temp the fan kicks in gets 11/10 in my book http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle/water-pumps/davies-craig-ewp80-water-pump-controller-combo

  6. FFS here we go again.. if your that concerned with the rules why not contact the organiser or one of the scrutineers rather than quote the MSA bible to us all
  7. dnt ask me how he worked it all out but these are his results, these were taken after he had started feckling
  8. well what can i say apart from a big thanks to Nige ive pestered him and probably Mildly miffed him off but we got there....... the project was kind of finished last year but i still wanted more, it was hunting at idle and running out of puff on hills just when i needed it most Nige did try and help but no joy it needed a bit of input and as this was a engine that no one new anything about it was a case of suck it and see so basically we have used the buggy for about a year now and kept putting up with its nasty habbit untill enough was enough so a quick call to my local rolling road http://www.mosleysgarage.co.uk/ and we were moving he wasnt very happy to do it at first as most megasquirt kits are fitted at home so he does try and stay away but he will have a dabble if its all running and just needs a bit of feckling any way waffle over we turned up and he done a few tests and worked out it was about 120bhp and the btm end was pretty good its just the top end needed to be played with about 15 runs later he had managed to squeeze 154 out of it but not only that it was where we needed it so it just goes to show that it can be done with a bit of patience and some one who knows his onions Vince the owner is a old school tuner and has been tuning and rallying for years so he knows his stuff after the attached link was shot he shouted did you here the difference ??? thats good enough for me i would like to thank Nige, BBC and Si Rafferty for all their help this is one happy Megasquirt user
  9. there are a few clubs down this neck of the woods but not sure on how servere they are though
  10. i think there has been lots of feedback given to Neil, but i think the main 1 is down to cost ...... there is no getting away from it these events cost money as does all kinds of motor sport and to commit to a National series of 8 rounds is one hell of a commitment. there are so many other good events out there that i think people just dnt want a series they just want to pick and choose what they want to do, but after our last event which was in March there has been a bit of a quiet spell but now all of a sudden there are about 8 events coming up that i wanted to do but simply cant do them so we have had to pick the ones we want to do or have already committed too
  11. has any one stripped a TDS mines needs a good service me thinks its slipping now and again like the brake isnt working or isnt engaged but sometimes it works very strange i know but it needs to be sorted i also read somewhere that if you remove all the silly grease that they build it with and use something a bit thinner it makes it work even better any ideas and tips would be great thanks Nobby
  12. it was a buggy im sure there are a lot more people who were close friends to Andrew and know the exact story........ive seen pics of the truck and you would never say it had rolled about 29 times, the state of the truck after is a credit to Malcolm and the team @ Whitbread, its just so sad with the outcome im sure someone will put all the rumours right pretty soon RIP Andrew AKA (Muddy Porcupine)
  13. unless you can fabricate and have access to a folder there are loads of people selling winch mounting plates, some are better than others some are better than others too off the top of my head for winch plates try: Gigglepin 4x4 Gwyn Lewis 4x4 Whitbread Offroad Devon 4x4 North Off Road Off Road Armoury if ive missed any one who does supply them im sorry its up to you if you keep your bumper it depends on how quick you want to progress but not many people use them now due to them digging in on approach or fitting through tight gaps
  14. sorry Neil i havent got a vehicle that is capable of driving the site and i really dnt fancy a full day hike around Walters i used to get lost driving it let alone walking it
  15. ah well i was going to come and watch but thats the end of that then
  16. there are a lot more challenge cars with front and rear than front and centre, that should give you some idea its a lot easier to use the rear and rig it up through the centre and the other way round
  17. please dnt take this the wrong way but by the way your question started i would say that you need to take a look first at what you are letting yourself in for pictures and videos do not do any section justice as any body who competes regular will tell you, that you can do a section and think **** that was bad then go home and tell the misses and show her the video and pics and she will go that looks nothing you big pansy..........looks are deceiving i would strongly advise going to see a local event and doing as Slim Boothy has put go and have a chat with diff teams we wont bite but dnt ask questions during a comp or you will probably get a few strong unwanted answers, what ever you do it is very addictive and can be expensive if you let it be Nobby
  18. we didnt do the HW last year due to not having a truck as we bit off a little more than we could chew but we got there in the end and pleased with the end result any way after watching numerous events last year we decided that a championship was no longer what we wanted to do and just move around and pick a choose the events we wanted to do, as we also found that going back to 2009 season we were invited to lots of different events, and found that we were a bit scared to enter other events due to not having the time or money to fix it if it broke and get ready for the next round of the HW which we were kind of tied into the championship i also thought that Class 3 was starting to get a bit silly as when the day started you were driving round the site looking for easy punches for standard class then later on in the day as there were not that many easy ones out there you ended up having a go thus putting you on your roof or breaking something i think that the point system could do with a little tweak to help the standard class vehicles not that we are in standard class any more but i now a lot of people still are not only that but money does come into it as well the HW was £80.00 per day where as most 1 day events are on average £50, you have the cost of Joining the AWDC plus the clubman licence it all adds up and then you have the fuel on top im sure in the AGM there was a thing up just for fun on how many miles competitors had done getting too events and im sure ours was over 2000 miles and that year we didnt even do the full series i hope that the XL does work, it would be a shame for it too fall on its arse but im sorry we wont be entering any of the rounds as we have already got 2011 near enough booked up to what we want to do Nobby
  19. ok got the Suzuki running on megasquirt and its going great with no issues apart from hunting when its warm on idle but apart from that its great... but it revs like you would not believe so im wondering is there a tweak you can do to put a rev limiter onto it to try and prolong the engine especially when my son is driving as we had a bit of valve bounce/slap what ever you call it when we done a fun event the other day regards Nobby
  20. try these big fella nice and cheap or these are excellent lasted 2 seasons
  21. i dnt think we will be able to enter any of next years events due to funding issues plus we have got lots of other events booked in for 2011 already although it would have been nice to do the odd local one or two and we all know what its like with every penny counting
  22. ok will put it another way we are running 2 gigglepin GP82's with 24 through 12 on bow 2's and also a TDS as a centre winch with the earths through the kill switch and it works fine for us
  23. there is another way of doing it by using the kill switch to kill the earths not the live that way you can use one isolator switch
