got the same problem with my 2a original stud part number 561590 is the screw in one 561886 is the knock in one then you can use the original wheel nut and a 9/16ths drill bit to drill the hub. should have double checked the thread in my hubs before i ordered new ones from craddocks ordered screw in ones but the thread is fubared on 2 of them so will be replacing them with knock in ones

think its more likely to be the ignition switch and no it doesnt do it again when you put it back into neutral i start it pop it in gear then strait back into neutral and then its fine

just bought a disco 300tdi auto and there are a couple of problems with it when you start it the starter keeps turning while its running until you put it in gear (so the inhibitor stops it) and the heater plugs are not working dont know if they are related just not good with electrics cheers Dan

thanks for the replies they didnt do a very good job of trying to steal it (thank god) just pushed the window open and pulled the column shroud down.i think not being able to open the drivers door from the inside defeated them would have looked dodgy to the insurance company if they had stolen it the mot runs out tomorrow!

does anyone know if a 90/110 steering wheel will fit a 1980 series 111? someone tried to nick my motor last night and i have a disclok in the garage but it wont fit my series (i used to use it on my old 90) just need to know if a early wheel will fit cheers all

mine does exactly the same noisey at low revs in 4th and drops out of 3rd gear on over-run thought it was just the 200tdi taking its toll!

part number stc1219 solved this the door locks and unlocks from the outside and also turns the alarm on and off

cheers for your help i have found RTC6690 which is passenger side door barrel blue cam mine doesnt have a remote key fob but theres a hump on the cam to activate the alarm via a micro switch

anyone got the part number for the drivers door lock on a 95 disco its got a grey cam thats broken think you have to buy the barrel and cam together cheers!

anyone got a diagram showing the drivers door lock on a 96 disco mine just turns and doesnt move anything on the inside of the door think somethings broken but cant tell what? cheers

yeah thats what i was thinking. i have the proper defender air intake and filter that goes round the back of the engine so at least that will look neater

ok so i converted my 1986 90 to a 300 tdi using the original lt77 i have now got hold of a defender r380 what differances are there in the two? will i have to get differant propshafts? or will the gearbox mount in the same place? i have the 300 tdi engine it was bolted to so now have the defender airfilter and pipeing i know i will have to weld some engine mounts further foreward but i could then use the lt77 with a 300tdi in a series project im doing cheers in advance!

had the same in a 110 and it was just about ok got the same in my 90 apart from its a tweeked 300tdi and its spot on so if you have a disco box to me its well worth it

yup just re-read the listing and it says reg date 04 Jan 1983 90s didnt come out till mid 84 the series 111 is on an "a" plate which i think is possible

does say e reg in the advert he also has a series 111 listed aswell might just be a private plate on it or hes doing a bit of plate sharing no feedback either

try frc3002 thats what i used on mine when i put a disco 24 spline diff on the back a 10 spline one wont fit just need the spacer 539745 i used the spacer out of my old 10 spline diff

think you need a spacer aswell i took mine out of the 10 spline diff on the old axle

think its just a 300 tdi defender one

i used amr3321 and the guage now reads right

yeah that was the one my gear lever was excessively sloppy replacing that and adjusting the bias springs cured it and you can check the spring and plunger is there i presume the spring and plunger is just there to stop any small free play

ahh but looking at the other thread thats a disco lt77 not a defender looking for a pdf that shows an exploding diagram of it but cant find one yet!

thats an r380 think hes on about a lt77 and yes theres a spring and plunger i had to replace the nylon cup on mine because there was a lot of play in the lever may have to check and adjust the bias springs too
