Question is, is it still under warranty if you go outside LR stealer in first 12, 24, or 36 months?

Something substantial but removable if required? these bolt through dumb irons to avoid bumper bendage issues. Shouldn't detract from the standard fixings if required to do something else later on.

mmmm seatbelt webbing then wire rope/metal hook/chain. Not a great combination. Won't it rot being on the underside of the vehicle in the salt/mud/rain (was going to say uv from sun but lets be realistic......)

+1 for Ashcroft transmissions, we've used them for diy swap on transfer box then a drive in swap on the auto mainbox. (their drive in service price included a hire car and fluids). Which was a nice day out at bletchley park. Not sure if there is a garage close to you who could do the work (noticed you'd quoted euros)

Hi Folks,
Looking to get a new battery for my 1997 Defender 110 300Tdi
Thoughts on the following or other better options welcome.
Simon...
as Bowie69 says tayna, good pricing excellent delivery, got a couple of Numax marine/leisure in my battery box, cxv27 or 24's can't remember, lasted 4 years so far.
they sell the ctek chargers well priced as well.

Get some old fashioned mouse traps, load with old bread or digestive biscuits. Tether the traps with steel wire though or they'l dissapear. Keep any foodstuffs in a metal bisbuit tin.
The mice/rats have the abilty to chew through cardboard or plastic and particulary like the taste of pvc cables.

Think the peugeot drivers special was down to a tee though even if you knew it was all scripted after the ridiculous top gear dog/caravan holiday episodes

Keith Lemon? lol

Trying to make TG work after the event is a mistake IMHO, if they wanted a fresh look with some new presenters i'm thinking semi-seroius drivers/reviewers Steve Coogan, VB Henderson, Sabine Schmitt, Jason Plato and for a stig/challenge features Johnny Vegas, Colin Furze and Gino de Campo. Anyone else any ideas?

not sure on exact dimensions but i fitted my seals so that no part of the seal would rub on the stub axle, i.e put a steel rule across the flange and sit the oil seal a gnats doodah under it.
That was second go, after I had helpfully fitted the oil seal really well......... then looked over at the new bearing on the bench

to connect the two reds together, there should be both parts of a round 2pin plug socket connector behind the glass fuse box panel. And as some others have said the tail lights work seperatley from the front side lights/cluster lights.
You can see the connector over towards the right hand side of the diag below, next to rear fog switch no.97

when you say they won't shift......have you tried a battery impact driver or manual hitty hammer type? didn't believe it would shift my floor panel screws until i tried a borrowed one yesterday

I had an over reading 300tdi temp gauge earlier this year, turned out to be a loose connection to the sender stud combined with a failing battery to engine/chassis earth. Those non-contact infra red temp guns are worth a bit of cash to check coolant hoses and block temps without burning yourself.

Just wondering where you got 2.6 Ohms from Bowie?
agreed with the rest of it but I=P/V i.e watts/volts or I=V/R, but as r needs to be measured?........? or am i being thick
-
how many watts are the spots?, just thinking if you have a bad earth and the voltage is lowered the current will try and increase to keep up. Hence the fuse getting warm, especially if you are near the limit.
If the cable is up to it between the fuse and the spotlights you could use a 15A fuse to each. how thick are the wires feeding the lamps
55w/12v= 4.6A~ each lamp
if they are on with lower voltage
55w/9v= 6.1A ~each lamp

Hikvision, sounds cheap nasty chinese, but wow for the price the quality of their 2 line stuff is impressive 3mp ip cameras and recorders for not much money.
no affiliation, apart from this is the third lot of their kit we have bought for work/home. outperforms the axis/panasonic kit we have hands down.
cameras etc from £104 each
http://www.cctvkits.co.uk/brands/hikvision/hikvision-ip-range.html
http://www.cctvkits.co.uk/hikvisionds7604nvr.html £150 (need to chuck a sata disk in of your choosing to record)

Think i'd be looking at the bulkhead more closely, if they have bodged the heater into a RHD steering slot, have they secured the steering brackets correctly?, looks like the footwell panels have had repair/plates over them.
The hole for the heater should be square/rectangular, and there should be a piece of sealing gasket you can buy to seal properly.
Have the rest of the bits been swapped over properly, i.e lower dash heater box/wipers. The brake pipes look to have been replumbed

the newer 3 way fan connector type, (econoseal)? from vwp) can rot out. inspect the plug socket next tothe fan under the bonnet. pull both halves and check the pins for corrosion, or even if they are still there.
-
have you changed the vac pump at any point? they do pack in as the diaphram can wear/split. it is cam/plunger driven from the engine
-
the switch? one of the spades fell off?
if it's working on slow speed the motor and supply are ok, as well as the resistor.

anything similar JLR based? disco4 or freelander 2
on ebay £30-50, usual caveats apply.......
