  1. Hi,I have the same issue and I have taken my car to the dealership twice and they had no idea about this issue. I got them to hook it up to the system called T4 which apparently is LRs genuine diagnostic system for the TD5. However, I tried going through the menus but couldn't find any option to turn the fans off.If anyone here is familiar with this system, can you please guide me going through what menus will lead me to an option to turn this forced assist off.You help is much needed and would be really appreciated!!I am from Pakistan and the TD5 Defender was never launched here but the dealer has some experience with TD5 Discos.

  3. I don't have an immobilizer. I have a standard all metal key.
  4. So I didn't secure the battery and the positive battery terminal hit the front wall of the battery box when I went over a bump. I heard a loud shrill noise from under me(LHD) and the engine died. The picture is after I have re positioned the terminal on the battery. Does that mean the ecu is shot? I dont hear the fuel pump and no glow plugs indication on the cluster. I disconnected the ECU and I still have the same number of lights going off on the cluster as with the ecu connected. Is there a way to check the ecu? I checked ALL the fuses and they are fine. Its a 2001 10p TD5 Defender 110. ECU MSB000080 Is there a way to confirm if the ecu is dead? And if it is, what are my options? I am based in Islamabad Pakistan and an ECU, NNN500020 is available to me can I use that I am not sure which vehicle it is from. Appreciate your help!
  5. Okay... Thanks for the details! I heard that Defender TD5 does not use any of these parts; only Disco II TD5 uses them.... is that true?
  6. Okay... I tapped mine into place too with a socket, socket did leave a mark on each washer but hopefully its all good.
  7. Thanks! I will put them in the head first and then tighten them with the injector clamp. I did touch the tip of the injectors... cleaned the carbon of with fine sand paper using light pressure.
  8. I am doing the injector seals and O rings job on my car but I am kind of stuck now. The new seals are genuine LR part but they wouldn't go past the mid point on the injector nozzles. Am I doing anything wrong? I have cleaned the tip using fine sand paper and there's no carbon left on the tips but that's not helping. I tried forcing them a little but to no joy. Don't want to damage any thing since nothing is available here.... got these from Dubai as well. Do I place the washers in the head first then install injector and use the clamp to seat them in place by tightening the bolt? Is that the correct way? Would that damage anything? Also, I washed the injectors with petrol... is that okay??2. How do I clean the red socket.. what and how to use? How do I clean the whole loom.. from the injector socket to the red socket? How do clean the MAP sensor.. what and how to use? My glow plug sockets were very brittle and I broke all 4 of them while removing them.... whats the fix? Please help!
  9. The person bypassed it by connecting the terminal 3 and terminal 4 for the switch, together... Everything else is original.
  10. Got it! So even if this is faulty and I leave every thing the way it is (bypassed)... The down side would only be that the top lights would work with the engine off...right? But why are all the lights weak?? They don't have enough juice in them... the way they used to be?!
  11. Thanks... Nopes I don't have a rear screen heater. How can I check the VSS? Can I check it in the car using a multimeter? Or any other easy way to do it?
  12. I have a Tomb Raider Defender and yes the STC 16888 is for the roof mounted lights. What is this part, whats its function and how does it work? How can I check if mine is faulty... in simple terms please.... My electrician says its bad so he bypassed it but I'm sure he doesn't know what it is and how to check it. Now all of my lights are weak the top ones as well as the headlights I'm not sure if this happened as a result of removing the VSS or for some other reason since I can't recall the time. Is there a seperate VSS for the headlights too? Thanks!
