  1. I would of thought with the amount of ex mod land rovers that there would have been a lot available but ebay shows nil hits (as I also am looking for a set) are they only Wolf specific or also Snatch and WMIK? regards Mike
  2. If you going to chuck it in the bin, I'll gladly pay postage for it as it's hot here .
  3. Not to be meladramatic but I wouldn't even use them for low speed on anything. The problem with cracks are all but very few cases they grow and accelerate as they grow. Lots of theory and guff behind this (sorry being a bit geeky but it would be interesting to see what type of cracking is occuring). If you want to check the wheels you can get a cheap penetrant (PT) kit.
  4. G'Day just trawling through the posts here, looking for the nuggets of info. I had a Lightweight, bought a Pinzgauer 716 that is now being shuffled off so hopefully I can pick up a Defender 90. By way of intro Anyway the post above caught my eye. The one thing to note about insurance companies if they can see a way of not paying they will and in fact it is completely legal in their terms etc. I had a mate who's car was pinched, burnt out... the insurance company refused to pay because the aftermarket wheel found on the wreck where not specified on the insurance documentation. I am not posting this in defence of insurance companies just its an interesting point. Another item that disconcerts me a lot with all this legal stuff, if you happen to impact someones car and it is your fault. If you get out of the car and say "sorry mate I screwed up" by the letter of law you just voided your insurance because you admited liability This is why no-one, government, actors etc never say sorry as soon as they do that the legal suits start (really screwed up). A lot of big companies have procedures in their vehicles for what to do after a car accident. In reality this are quite handy documents.
  5. G'Day I was looking at a mates Defender 90, 300tdi chassis this afternoon here in Malaysia. The LH outside chassis rail at the bottom is eaten out from the rear shock mount to adjacent the battery. The rest seems to be ok. Can you buy repair sections for the chassis rails? I seen all the other bits but not chassis sections. I don't think a new chassis is an option as they would class a chassis as a car then the people wanting money for doing nothing get excited...... Regards Mike
