  1. Nige 90 yep its possible to remove engine without the gearbox - i did it last year when I changed the clutch in mine, also did the timing kit & water pump when it was out :-)
  2. Jenna you will properly find the connector on the starter has just came loose why it does it i have no idea i replaced my one - but you could just tighten the sped connector with a pair of pliers
  3. Jenna is all the earth wires on? Has the starter wire came off the starter motor (this happened to mine)
  4. I did the mod by using 5w side light bulbs (side repeater sockets!) visit your local scrappy and they most likely wont even charge you for the 2 connectors I think using the 10w bulbs you may get pulled by the police due to them thinking your driving with fogs on! the 5w bulbs look the same as the bumper ones brightness wise
  5. If your loosing coolant and light flashing could well be a HGF, water blowing out the spark and upsetting the fuel mix. (I have this problem!! at the min sorting it this wkend) If the light is just flashing and your not loosing coolant coil pack or HT lead or plug id say would be at fault
  6. Rodders, Is it an 1.8K series engine? If yes check the spark plugs - the flashing is random misfire - solid light will properly show a code saying about a weak fuel mix. Are you loosing any coolant??
  7. Does the green light also light up when you turn the electrics on? if not they must be a relay or a bad connection somewhere
  8. I put a drop of soap on the tool before putting it in the pipe to help it make the flare and it does help with the copper nicking like that in the pic
  9. Have you made the right type of flare? ie single or double? for each end? easy mistake to make
  10. Got a new one with bluetooth handsfree for £90 in halfords down from £160 so not bad :-) going to take the other one apart and see what went wrong with it
  11. Factory fit cd/radio XQE100390 Plays sound ok - just no display. is it worth fixing? or scrap it and get a new one? it went down last night
  12. If a sign had of been up he/she would have most likely had on heavy rubber gloves & brought wire snips and stole the copper cable and all lol
  13. Never had it come off there, but did have it come of the gearbox end, which then resulted in the slave cylinder flying apart lol - tow'd of the M2 @ Belluve bridge on a cold saturday morning last yr - got it back re-fitted the cylinder took the whole pipe work out inc master & slave cylinderput new fluided in, pumped the slave cylinder a lot of times while keeping the master cylinder up high to clear the air (as there is no bleed nippples), put it all together and welded a U piece of metal onto the slave cylinder bracket to stop it happening again!
  14. For the mods... Would it be possible to start a thread on locations of people with diag equipment? for forum members to see only? 1. Martin - Belfast ~ Autoboss V30
