  1. Hi, update just in case. Time to put hands up and admit I'm a pillo-k, auto sparky mate came out did loads of checks and found the wiring had caught the tailpipe of the exhaust and melted through them, no power return to gauge, new wire inserted and fuel gauge now works.
  2. Hi, tried the resolder wire trick didnt work so am begining to believe the sender at least is fubared, might have to call in an auto sparky, ta
  3. Hi, sorry forgot its a 300 tdi 96, the wire at the bottom of float is slightly frayed, will try another earth. ta
  4. Hi, my fuel gauge has stopped working, checked the sender and get a variable ohmm reading as I move the float up and down but no reaction at the gauge, changed the gauage no joy, changed all the clocks no reaction put my sender into another car no reaction, at the wire socket I am only getting 1.8v. so any ideas???
  5. Hi, not been on for a while but its nice to see things havent changed. Disco's still rotting, I did mine then sprayed loads of waxoyl into the cavitys it seems to help, keep up the good work it has rewards.
  6. Hi, been reading this with interest, now this may seem an odd thought, but do the top drag teams in the USA use any thing like this as they have fantastic sums of money to throw at things, seems like it may be an idea to contact them and see what comes up.ON the other hand the JCB land speed team for diesels might have a thought on the subject.I know an old mate did this on his Harley took some setting up and when it started properly he got an amazing cloud of steam and carp out of the exhaust, my other half commented " all that money and he's gone back to steam power", yep we had to do a runner until he saw funny side , best of luck with it.
  7. Hi guy's, I'm having to change my gearbox the syncro's have gone (anybody seen them?) best way of doing this ? cant afford to put it into a dealers, all comments welcome.
  8. Hi, nothing I can recall that is easy to get at unless you want to take the main lever out and check it is still in one piece, hope this helps
  9. take the gear lever gaitor off then remove the rubber dirt cover by either removing self tappers or rivets under there is a small plate bent at 90degrees with a slot in it these some times break and jam the lever. hope this helps
  10. Cheers , the reason I cant see the topic is the menu on the left isnt there, tried the link but still no joy,
  11. cheers loads of stuff but no camel cut/fold
  12. Cheers Matt but that wasn't the one I was hoping for, the one I'm after was on a Disco, thanks all the same. Could use the principal.
  13. Appologies I know this has been done to death, but last time I was looking for this I found a topic on how to cut and fold the wing not just cut it. Now I cant find it any where, does any one know who did it or where to do the cut and fold ? much appreciated, ta
  14. Hi, I might be wrong about this, but somebdy will correct me, does'nt the injector fuel pump use something in the diesel to lubricate itself and is it in the veggie oil ???. hope this helps and gets more replies to help solve it.
  15. Hi, when I've been off roading especially in muddy water when I get home I usually put hoes pipe close enough to run water thro the alternator while engine is running then wd it to death flushes most of the crapout and wd flushes water away.
