  1. Does anyone know the correct size bolts that I need to attach the radiator fan (military 8 blade type) to the hub on the engine? Thanks in advance, Steve
  2. The photo is useful thanks. I think that I will probaly replicate the set up shown in Tonk's photo to minimise the number of hoses running round the place. Steve
  3. Thanks for your responses, I have a standard series gearbox so it looks like I will be drilling some holes and then buying some pipe and fittings. Cheers Steve
  4. I want to put extended breathers on the gearbox/transfer box as a first step to some deeper wading, is it as straight forward as doing the axles or is there more involved? Cheers Steve
  5. As Mark says a few other pre-production models went out and I was one of the few to get one. I am also very happy with mine, it makes quite a difference to be able to put the handbrake on with confidence and know that it will work. Basically a very nice addition to the lightweight. Steve
  6. I suspect you may be right that there would be less complications with the Fairey 5000 and I did also have one of these. Unfortunatley before I really starting thinking about this I sold the Fairey on as from quickly looking at the available space it didn't really appear to fit on the lightweight without some modifications while I thought I could probably fit the 525 with its bumper without any major problems, especially as I thought I would have to get a shaft made up regardless of which option I went for. In hindsight I would probably make a different desicion but I only have the 525 now and it would be nice if could make it work. Regards, Steve
  7. Minivin, thanks for the information. I am going to try offering the 525 bumper up to the vehicle sometime over the weekend and see how I feel about it. Ltwt1981 if I could come and have a look at the setup on yours that would be great. If you could send me a pm with your contact details I will get in touch and organise a time that would be convenient for you. Cheers, Steve
  8. Has anyone here fitted a superwinch 525 to a series 3 (specifically a lightweight)? I am just looking at doing this and am trying to work out the shaft lines and the mounting arrangement for the winch and it would be a great help if anybody would be able to give me a bit of a headstart. For example will it be possible to mount the winch on the orginal bumper (with suitable strengthing) or will I need to use the defender style 525 bumper? I think that it should be possible with some cutting of the front panel but if some one could confirm this or otherwise before I start making alterations it would be useful. I do have the defender style bumper so if I do have to use it this is not a major problem but my preference would be not to. The second major issue is the shafting arrangement, if anyone has this setup and could give me the details of the pto shaft they have used I would be extremely grateful. I am guessing that this will need to be a custom shaft. Thanks in advance, Steve
  9. No problem, when its done I'll get my hands on a digital camara
  10. Thanks for the recommendation, I had seen the PG winches web site a while ago but haven't got round to contacting them will make sure I do now though. Steve
  11. Like the picture. The electric winch I was looking at was to go on the rear, not really necessary for what I use it for at the moment but it was going at a price which made me think I might as well. I've got a big Superwinch to try and fit on the front, just need to source the pto bits. Steve
  12. Thanks for the advice, this confirms my suspicions but I thought I should check before discounting it. Cheers Steve
  13. I've been looking at fitting a winch (to a lightweight) and have been offered an electric one with a 6000lb line pull, I have a feeling that this is not going to be enough but I would appreciate peoples opinions. Cheers Steve
  14. I may go down this path I was just hoping that there would be an off the shelf item available that I could bolt straight in. I will probably go and find a 110 tomorrow to see how much fiddling will be needed to make it fit. Steve
  15. Thanks for the information. I'm just waiting to hear back from Steve Parker Landrover as to whether or not they have something suitable otherwise I will try fitting the 2.25 system and hope there is no significant drop in perfomance. Steve
  16. Hi, My 109 has a 2.5 petrol from a ninety and I need to replace existing the exhaust system. The problem I am having is finding a new exhaust to match the old one, the existing system appears to be be similar to the standard 109 system (same general shape /path down the vehicle) it is however a much bigger bore at about 2". Does anyone have any ideas on where I may be able to find a similar system? If not would I be able to fit the standard system with the smaller bore without any problems? So far I spoken to a couple of places locally (Hampshire) and Rimmer Bros but haven't been able to match the old system. Thanks in advance, Steve
