  1. I got 2 from Ebay both were Amkov zoom 007, One for each car. They were cheap but they promise full 1080p HD, Video was okay but nowhere near full HD,
  2. Not sure those will fit on the Puma as the grill sticks out further. I might even have a pair of jate rings at home of my old car, was just looking for something different.
  3. I've rear some where that Jate rings are not okay for the rear, is that correct?
  4. Don't know that's why I asked before I ordered some, I see loads of cars around me with them on but they are most drag cars as I live near a track.
  5. Okay so they are a no no, what would you recommend I fit to the front of Defender Puma, to aid recovery.
  6. I am thinking of fitting some of these to the front and rear of my Land Rover Defender. I only very rarley do any sort of recovery so they would not get a lot of heavy use. http://www.lrisolutions.co.uk/index.php/land-rover-defender-discovery-4x4-towing-recovcery-eye-tow-loop-strap-orange-90-110.html What do people think they are more for towing race cars but would they hold up to a recovering a stuck Landy. I don't want to put a steering guard on my new Puma these seemed a nice alternative.
  7. What about in the roof, might be a little more elaborate then you were planning. Something along the lines of the Mud roof console.
  8. I plan on taking the heater out in Feb so will look at all the mods then and take my time to make sure its all in tip top working order. Heat was never an issue its the dead fan that's a problem now. If I need more heat later on I'll look again at the D2, but for now I think I could spend the money making the 110 look a little better so the Mrs will like the car.
  9. Thinking about it more, it might be easier to remove the heater unit to have a better look at it and to fix the bits i've broke. I won't get enough time now till Feb to have a good look at it, but does anyone have an easy guide on how to remove the heater unit I can follow when I do get the time.
  10. Thanks for the part numbers Western, I'll look at that in more detail when I have the time Work is killer at the moment and get some bits ordered.
  11. Thanks Western, that didn't end to well, attempted to take a little slack out of the fan control mechanism on the air box and snapped both the small holding bolt then the wire itself.
  12. The fan is clear and moves very easily when pushed around, even with one finger, so I am thinking the motor is dead. I know its not the fuse as these have been swapped for a known good one already.
  13. Ever since I have owned my 110 the heater has been rubbish. more like an asthmatic blowing on the windscreen than anything. So when the heater fan stopped working it didn't make too much difference. Now the Mrs is complaining and I could do with a bit of heat on these cold mornings, but looking around there must be a better product than just replacing the old fan. How much heat does the eberspacher D2 kick out, could I use this instead to warm the car up and defrost the windscreen.
  14. Thanks Western. I'll give them a ring after Christmas
  15. I have a 1985, Land Rover 110, which has been fitted with a 200tdi from a discovery. My exhaust has decided that it needs to be changed. as part of it fell off last night. I might as well change all of it in one go. Is there any difference in the down pipe from a discovery 200tdi and a defender one. I can't work out which one will fit the car. Any advise would be welcome.
  16. Went for a drive last night in my E Reg 110, everything was fine until the throttle peddle started to stick, It wasn't sticking on the mats, I could lift it up with my foot but it made no difference. As it was getting dark and I had my daughter in the car I headed for home quite a scary ride. Once home I found a touch, it looks like the reset spring on the throttle cable under the bonnet was not resetting, Quick squirt of WD40 and a little wiggle and it freed up. Although it's not acting right. Is it possible to change just the Spring, or do I need a whole unit, The spring on the throttle is not so good either I'll have to give that a good clean as well, or replace them both if its an easy job
  17. My 110 does the same thing, although the temp gauge does also move around if the indicators or the hazards are on, is this still a bad earth or something else.
  18. How close does the roof rack fit against the roof of the 90, is there anyway the surf board could fit in between. (never seen a surf board up close so no idea if this is a stupid suggestion). As for the fishing rods, could you not use plumbing pipe, in 2m section collapsible when you are away to store in the car, but easy enough to add together to store the rods and attached to the roof of the 110,
  19. Just talked to my friend who I bought the car from , he has confirmed the old pipe was from Steve Parker, hence why I have no viscous fan.
  20. Mine points to the ground as that's where it's leaking from the jubilee clip seems to have given up the ghost. I'll try to get some picture tonight.
  21. I have a Landrover 110 fitted with a desco 200tdi engine. I have a small leak on the cooling with is coming form the bottom rad hose where it joins the engine. Is there a difference between the disco and the defender engines when ordering the hose and if so which one is best for my car. Want to order the right one to save the Mrs having a go at my again. Many thanks Neil
  22. Went a few years ago, with the Mrs. Agree the Blue lagoon is a must, for anyone. Also have a look at the 4x4 tours we took one to the top of a glacia, had a great time, not something I would have attempted in a hire car. We also did the whale watching, which was very cold and we saw nothing but that's just pot luck.
  23. I've seen that car before somewhere, not for sale just the owner showing it off. Don't really like the cage but someone might.
  24. So it's just a case o finding the side light supply wire, and feeding that into the correct terminal. Sorry for sounding think I was told I would have to bridge it to earth as well.
