  1. Have you checked the condition of the 3 pin plugs on the back of the headlight bulbs? Sounds as though they need replacing. Common fault as they get older.
  2. Section 76 should help you. http://www.landy.pl/LandRoverDiscoveryWorkshop1995-1996.pdf
  3. Yes the T piece contains a non-return valve.
  4. Common problem on older calipers. The safest thing to do is replace the calipers.
  5. You could try holding the handle of the outside of the door as though opening and then with your other hand thump the door very hard next to the door lock position. You may have to do it a number of times. What this does is vibrates the door lock latch, with a bit of luck it may allow the latch to move and open the door. The door lock latch can seize in the locked position due to accumulated dirt. If you do get the door open clean the latch assembly before closing again. Best of luck.

  7. I had this problem, drove me mad for 9 months till I found the answer by accident. The flash hazards function is fused on the same fuse as the headlight washer pump. If your headlight washer pump goes faulty and causes the fuse to blow it takes out the flash function as well. Have a look at fuse 2, satelite 1 above the main fuses below the steering wheel. It's the row of 6 fuses you want number 2, second from the right 20A. You may also have to un-plug the headlight washer pump and replace it in due cause. Try your headlight washers first,if they work this is not the answer you want. Hope this works for you.
  8. Have you had a look at the condition of the fusible links in the main battery +ve cable? These things, http://www.jpurnell.com/RR/repairs/fusible%20link%20repair.htm Common cause of electrical problems in 200tdi's, including dubious headlight operation.
  9. The condenser fans in front of the radiator run all the time the air con is on. One of the temperature sensors in the thermostat housing switches on the condensor fans if for any reason the engine coolant starts to over-heat. This happens whether the air con is switched on or not. I don't know what the other sensor does, but would like to. The smell you are experiencing is bacteria build up on the evaporator coils and fins. It happens. I hate to say but you should have sterilized the evaporator before you installed it. The way to sterilize it now is too set off a can or two of fungicide aerosol in the car and do it every year. Available from air con specialists. The only way to find out how much oil and refrigerant is in the system is to remove it by vacuum, measure it and then refill with the correct quantities of refrigerant and oil. This should only be done after vacuum testing your system for leaks. The best way to get this done is to take it to an air con specialist. You can do it your self but it's a bit hit and miss, you have no way of knowing the precise amounts of oil and refrigerant in the system, could affect performance. You've done well to have fitted the system yourself. Best of luck.
  10. If you have removed the whole of the spot welded panel you are allowed, according to the MOT Testers Manual, to fit the replacement panel by plug welding it. A lot less heat than seam welding and possibly easier than bolting if you have a welder.
  11. Common problem, the cast ledges on the caliper body simply corrode away thro time allowing the pads to drop onto the hub. Best and safest solution is to replace each of the rear calipers with new.
  12. Unlucky. If it's of any use I can scan my handbook radio details and email them to you. Mines a 94 300tdi. If thats ok pm me your email
  13. Download yourself a handbook http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/extfree2viewlrprod/index.jsp
  14. Download a copy of this to a file and then print yourself a copy. http://www.landy.pl/LandRoverDiscoveryWorkshop1995-1996.pdf
  15. This it by any chance? http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/9882/all/489/PRC5436-HEATER-CONTROL-SWITCH.html?sort=za

  17. Drain the tank by taking out the sender unit and syphon. New fuel filter filled with diesel and refill tank with diesel this time. With a bit of luck that should be it.
  18. Inhibitor switch. Don't have wiring diagram but this might be helpful, http://www.landy.pl/LandRoverDiscoveryWorkshop1995-1996.pdf Go to Section 44, service repair 44.15.19
  19. Probably condensation forming in the airflow due to ambient moisture content of air. Happens now and again. I seriously doubt its a refrigerant leak of any kind, the system would empty in minutes with a leak that big.
  20. I agree. I just scrapped the foam layer off the back of the rubber sheet and put it back with the carpet. No sound difference at all.
  21. The easiest place to find it is behind the headlights. Near-side dip....blue/pink : main beam....blue/slate Off-side dip....blue/black : main beam....blue/orange
  22. This gives a description of the fusible links. http://www.jpurnell.com/RR/repairs/fusible%20link%20repair.htm If I was you I would refurbish them while you're at it, they cause endless trouble due to corrosion. Best solution is to replace with an under bonnet fuse box out of a 300tdi.
