As columbo would say "just one more thing" a lad a work sugested that I clip the top of the dislocating coil to the turret top effectivly fixing them ,is this worth a shot ?

I bought a 1998 Defender 90 200 tdi a couple of weeks back, it has the full off road kit 2-inch lift, all the bells and whistles. However I can't get used of driving it seems to hard to keep in a straight line especially on secondary roads or if I pass 50mph I might as well buy a coffin, It also has dislocating coil springs (black, does the colour make a difference?) with an inner cone, and pro com3 shocks could this be the problem.

I'm fitting a set of parabolic, one-ton shackles, & long shocks, to the rear only of my 88 tomorrow. Is this as straight forward as it looks ? I would be greatfull for any useful tips, & will the original axel straps be ok or do I loose them altogether, Thank in advance

Hi, I have a series 3 ,88, diesel
I need to change / up grade my rear suspension , I like to off road a little but nothing to serious , however i do from time to time use a roof rack with a lot of weight on it , camping etc.
I was thinking ,heavy duty parabolics , with 1 ton shackles .
does this sound ok.
also do i need new shocks to fit the above ,if so what would you recommend.
