  1. They are bloody brilliant, wouldn't swap my Makita one for any other brand
  2. I've got to add you to my Xmas list, I feel guilty!
  3. I'd be keen on your Aliisport cooler - let me give you some money for it though!
  4. There was a factory SWB FC - I believe it was a prototype.....
  5. Hardly ground breaking stuff is it? Following it around in a brand new Puma and the guy who's done multiple times in his TD5.
  6. In the process of stripping out the nonsense wiring modifications on the 95 110, I noticed this relay, it appears to have got rather hot! It's on with the ignition in P1 so assume it is some power feed - any idea what might have caused this?
  7. With a nice TDV8 or even an M57 it would be quite a different prospect. Remember the 300tdi has half the capacity of your V8.......
  8. Unfortunately my instrument panel wiring has been messed about with, is there a part number for the loom around the instrument panel? Early 300tdi defender.
  9. Saw one recently done for 21k, honestly there was probably 5k's worth of kit, and the finish isnt the best - infact the seal on the pop top doesn't even seal...
  10. got three Red tops, one approx 12yrs old now and still working. ironically it's been abused starting crappy old tractors fairly irregularly.
  11. Hi all, I've got a 300tdi engine with EDC to go into a series, but I can't find the thread on how to wire in the injection pump, I don't really want to go down the route of sourcing another manula injector pump
  12. the only Land Rover that is any good for "overlanding" out of the factory is the 107" SW. The fact the back seats make a bed shows the intention Land Rover had for those vehicles.
  13. SOme cracking 4x4 vans out there, namely SPrinter and Transit, surely they're a better start point for this? Interestingly I had a chat with the owner of the aero camper landy thing at Goodwood and the bloke was so up himself it's no wonder he's asking the earth for it. Total kn8b
  14. I took the kids and camped, probably shouldn't have bothered. At the same time it has the makings of a great show, and the show ground is a perfect venue. It's a shame there wasn't more advertising, but hopefully it grows and is supported better in the future. I spoke to the ladies in the coffee hut thing, who had driven from Crewe for the event - needless to say they weren't happy.
  15. Give Cross Channel Classics a call, he has a selection of wide tubeless ready, traditional wheels.
  16. James, one thing I've found recently is that the infill panels around the rear lights need to sealed properly, I left one loose in the 110 and the noise was bad. Definitely worth getting those snug against the body. make sure you've got your foam infill around the gear lever and tunnel. I removed the noise killer in the roof of the 110 as it wasn't effective as the replacement headlining. New headlining has got a foam backed material over the board and soaks up noise nicely.
  17. Hi all, in the process of fitting a 300tdi to my S1, and wondered if anyone could give me a reference for a slightly shorter 300tdi fuel filter? Basically where I want to locate the filter I need something 3/4" shorter than the standard cartridge. Any ideas appreciated.
  18. there's no shoulder on the tensioner locating peg? Someting stopping it going all the way home
  19. Have you got the correct tension on the belt? I seem to recall that an incorrect tension will cause the belt to run out of true.
  20. I've been riding (bike and motorbike) on and off into London for about 15 years now, and I've seen all sorts of crashes and near misses, which most of the time come from drivers not checking mirrors or being distracted. I will add though on the flip side when I drive it is incredibly hard to know exactly what is going on around you all the time and I keep that in mind when riding. Yesteday I was almost side swiped by a lady who had pulled over to have a row with the car in front because they couldn't agree on who went first while filtering.
  21. I am an ex cyclist, and I've ridden miles around the world. It is clear the cyclist cannot unclip quick enough. I don't think the land Rover was going that quickly, although you could argue he could of slowed more, but then that works both ways. I once fell over in the middle of London being unable to unclip quick enough - it's something that takes some learning.
