  1. Planned the route to Italy- working on the return . I am considering entering Slovenia and driving along the SOCA river for a while. Problem I'll be towing a bloody caravan- Anyone know if the route from Villach route 206 is suitable etc. Route to Italy
  2. I am planning a trip to make a round trip to Italy - Tuscany , Venice etc mid July I'm planning to Calais, through Austria to the Northern part possible return through France. Any suggestions ,advice would be appreciated.
  3. I am pretty fed up with the straight up position of the second row seats in my Puma , kids fall asleep and their heads keep falling forward. I have looked at the mechanism of the chair-but I dont think one would be able to modify that. I wondered If one could place in a spacer on the front end attachment to tilt the whole chair backwards , so that one could perhaps obtain a slightly more favourable inkline on the back rest. I also thought of perhaps retrofitting a corolla verso's second row seat in the defender instead.
  4. Is it necessary to cage a whole lenght of a 110, would a front cage be adequate enough ?I think it should provide a pivot and still ptotect the middle seat occupants. Maybe only having it on the front part would reduce the weight ?
  5. Thank you for this piece of info.My Puma is going in for its first service at the Dealers. Anything else I should be aware of ?
  6. http://alternativegassolutions.com/ http://www.gasconversionkits.com/ Is this snake oil ?
  7. I've been quoted more than the cost of the beadbreaker for the shot blast and powder coat . No welder , no time . £37 now seems a bargain , guess I am going to stick with red.
  8. I want to change the colour of my beadbreaker from Hi-lift jack red to Zhermat Silver. The beadbreaker is approx 2 kg . I asked at http://www.beadbreaker.co.uk but they have only the Red available. Where in Hampshire could I get it shotblasted and powdered?
  9. I would like to fit extra sockets to my PUMA. 1. I saw a socket in maplins it states up to 16Amp . Is that enough? 2. Where would good location be, ? what type of wires are needed andhow do youu feed them through to the battery? 3. How do I wire it so that it is either off or live when the vehicle is on. 4. Does anyone have a wiring diagram ? I am a complete novice when it comes to Electronics.
  10. Have one of those scorpion racing wheel carriers. Very strong though, it even has a hilift jack foot and enough space to bolt my beadbreaker to. Only one complaint-- Intsructions are bad and difficult to figure out, the wheel is at an offset to the left and it looks odd on my 2007 Puma. Also fixes partially to the body I have removed it and awaiting a new designs from frontrunner tha works with a piston attachment , and is fixed to the chasis.
  11. I would like to fit a reversing CCTV to my Defender . I have seen a couple of Rear view mirrors with in built Screens http://www.vue-cctv.co.uk/vue-cctv.htm?pag...g_systems.shtml and here http://www.vision-uk.co.uk My wonder however if these "mirror" do act like a mirror if the system is of, I have seen systems integrated into the visors , but seems only available in USA.http://www.visorview.com/VV2_camera_system.html Any suggestions?
  12. No idea , it could be the lion park down Sandton way ( there where you are classified sushi if you climb out and take a "foto" ) Reminds me if ever I visit one of those places (longleat etc) to wash any dog pee of my tires.
  13. Practical joke : Apart from the dead fish hidden in the upholstery what about rubbing "Catnip" on the tires prior to an overland African adventure ?
