  1. Bad earth, find, clean JD :)

    Mo

Possibly broken wire between switch and NSR indicator lamp .

To check bulb holder earths I use a testlight with the clip side of the test lamp lead powered up from battery +ve and use the test lamp probe to check bulb holder earthing. If the test lamp lights then your earth at the bulb holder is good.

If you need good quality auto electrical wiring supplies take a look at the product range at http://www.autoelectrics.net/products.html

  2. I am in need of some helpful info please.I have lost the keys for my M reg 300 tdi and cant find the spare anywere.I was just wondering if there is a number anywhere on the vehicle which I can take to the dealer and have a new set cut ? Thanks for any replys.

If you have no luck with the dealer a good mobile auto locksmith can cut keys to fit the lock without the original key present by "reading" the lock.

  3. The +ve battery terminal on my '08 Puma is a "T" shape, with the main connection to the battery post at the base of the T and then the ends of the two arms at the top of the T are available for connections.

One end is already occupied, and the other is free, just a threaded hole but no bolt.

This would be ideal for the +ve quick-connect wire for my new CTEK Multi XS 3600 battery charger.

Question is: what is the spec. of the bolt that goes into that threaded hole?

also - the + and - wires on the quick connect are not fused, so, taking the advice given in the past to put inline fuses on both + and -, I intend to add some scotchblock-type snap on fuse holders. The manual says 3.6A is the max current the charger supplies so 4A continuous/8A blow fuses seem appropriate ?

    Hope this makes sense...

    Thanks

Are the battery terminals similar to the ones on this webpage ?

At a guess the bolts are M6 metric.

    Best regards
