  1. I’m just restoring a 1983 series 3 swb. Does anyone have some pictures of how all the front and rear brake pipes are attached. Particular problems are: 1. Layout of brake pipes on front drums. I have four holes for pipe fittings, two top and two bottom 2. positioning of rear brake pipe that runs along axle thanks for any assistance Matt
  2. I have a low mileage ABS front axle that I want to replace the swivel joints on and fit to a non ABS vehicle It seems simplest to me to buy the non abs swivel ball kit and use that but I was wondering if anyone had tried this and found any issues with doing it. I am also wondering if there might be an issue using the ABS CV joint inside the non ABS swivel ball and pins The alternative would be to use the ABS parts and either cut the ABS cable or tie wrap it out of the way Either way I plan on fitting the correct non abs disks and callipers If anyone has any experience in this area I would be grateful for your comments before I buy parts that I shouldn't have
  3. HELP pleeeeese !!! I have a 1991 200Tdi 110 Defender, and while on visit during April I bought a new centre portion for my front diff in South Africa. I live in Madagascar. I sailed back and started the dismantling of the old and to my horror found out that I have the 10 spline side shaft diff and the new one is 24 spline. No way I can hop back quickly and replace . . . so what do I do now? Can I use the 2 old side shaft gears in the new one (there are 2 spider gears and the 2 gears on the side shafts – page 410 No 2 in parts catalogue) OR can I buy 2 new 24 spline side shafts and replace my old 10 spline side shafts with them? OR am I stuck???? Any help will be well appreciated. My nearest LR dealer is 1000km’s away. Dries
  4. Hi Folks, Looking to replace the front seat base heel carpet on Defender 110 CSW 300Tdi 1996 - Also known as Sluggie in our household. However, struggling to find the correct part number let alone source the item. Have tried looking at the following link and resources: http://www.allbrit.de/UNI.cfm?PAGE=768955&SPRACHE=EN However, it shows the carpet as coming in two pieces. On my Defender, it is just one piece as shown in the attached image. Any ideas on the part number and/or where to source a replacement. Also, related question. The following link shows felt tunnels and underlay for the front carpet sections: http://www.allbrit.de/UNI.cfm?PAGE=768889&SPRACHE=EN Are these known to be standard or options? Have neither at the moment. Many Thanks, Simon..
