Hybrid_From_Hell
You decide.. Shoving the 90 into deep mud and water as I do. .on it's recent rebuilt found heater and matrix packed solid with mud.. Thought about it. .. Basically the wing top has a grill and the mud and silt lands on it and in it goes. Dafter still "ram air" and forward facing vents ! So...I cobbled up a lump of 5mm plate with a shaped top and strengthened it to should it be stood on ...tigged it all up ... Except. Vent faces BACKWARDS .... Yes on the road nay have a small vortex...but off risd should help stop big lumps forcing into heater .. Here her go ....flame away lol

Bowie69
Not a very nice thing to say about nige... The plate looks sturdy btw.
CwazyWabbit
The cool thing is that you can remove it and use it as a ground anchor if you forget yours ......
muddy
This works well out of 3mm stainless. It goes a little further down the wing than a standard one so the eyebrow covers it better. Will.

Hybrid_From_Hell
Did think about that option Muudy but didn't think it woukd fit as neatly as yours as mines running challenge type wings. ...and prob wouldn't put up with me scrapping against things as I do lol Hence my alternate design
FridgeFreezer
Is it rated for snatch recovery? Of course Series 3 did it proper by having the vent in the side of the wing But seriously... 1mm Ali is very cheap you know Nige. For prototyping you can even buy it in small sizes with a protective coating of beer!
MuddyWinny
Nige, I ran a second pipe alongside the raised air intake (fortunately it is the same side). Can't say it is particularly elegant though. It has restricted the air flow a little but at least I get some vague waft of warmth out of the heater. muddy
Very true although I'm sure you could cut a radius to match the wings, the wing has deformed around it and a big hit would just rip the screws out the wing but then you'd probably drive over it and lose it in a bog!
