Pointers for Changing a V8 on a P38

Finally got most of the engine back in and to assist anyone thinking about doing this here are a few pointers to avoid the heart ache that I have been through over the last few weeks.

When you are ready to get the engine lifted back in these are the things that you want to have in place. Both exhaust manifolds the timing sensor on the right hand side to the rear of the exhaust manifold. the cooling pipe that comes off the water pump.

All of these things have given me a headache. There is an argument that leaving the exhausts manifolds off gives easier access to the engine mounting nuts. I had that problem the first time I changed the engine on a P38 so this time round I chose to leave off the manifolds. Believe me the engine mounts are much simpler by comparison.
