Going out and measuring for you, I've just realised the Stage 1 cross member will give me a further benefit by being in just the right place to give me a mounting point for my LT230 conversion to use the red and yellow levers for HiLo and Difflock, definnitly a productive morning.

I wouldn't do that - any significant movement of the transmission on its mounts would likely knock the transfer box out of gear.  I think you'd be much better off doing it how you did before, or using a bracket from the belhousing.

A usefull addition to any series frame might be a skid plate between the first outrigger (that supports the firewall) and the front fueltank support. That tank support digs in easily when high centred.  Sorry I don't have a clear picture of mine at hand but I 'll try to describe it. The plate follows the bottom contour of the front outrigger, angles downward, has a diagonal bend so as to meet the tank support flush. Made from 3 mm steel, easily welds in place and makes that area stronger and smoother. Saves the tank too.

In the pic , if you look closely, you can see a grey line angling from the outrigger to the front of the tank. You're looking at the bottom surface of the plate there. The rest is horizontal. To avoid dirt of collecting there, there is a 50 mm gap between the longitudinal frame rail and the plate.
