Hi all ,   i am new to this site.  my disco 1 has just passed Mot today great stuff.        I asked them to check fault codes because there is a little problem  the revs are up and down                    Fault codes read throttle position sensor  .  As i have already blanked the EGR off  do i need to replace the sensor or can that be removed . Any help is appreciated Thanks

Which engine do you have?

It sounds like you have a 300tdi edc engine.  If this is the case, yes, you will still need to replace the throttle sensor.  If it's not an edc engine, your problem is not electric, the non edc engine is entirely mechanical fuel injection so any issues with hunting (revs up and down) are down to the fuel injection pump.

Must be an EDC model since it has fault codes.

Yes it is a edc , i was told to check the wiring on the left side under the glove box it seems to be clean and dry , so i am at a loss it tick's over OK  but once you put the revs on after a little while it starts to to fluctuate . Revs up and down. Thanks again for your help.
