mickeyw
Here we all are, well aware that it's pretty easy to break into a Defender. However it seems that even the Jeep Wrangler, which probably isn't much harder to enter, is still not safe despite having more complex security systems. http://www.zdnet.com/article/biker-group-charged-with-hacking-hundreds-of-jeeps-in-crime-spree/
neil110
Wasn't it a jeep that was hacked into whilst being driven and control taken over by somebody sat at a keyboard?
mad_pete
I wouldn't call hacking the dealership credentials, removing window, hacking the port and reprogramming keys easy. This versus the defenders steal via a paper clip and a key of any sort. Some car was hacked but it was a very specialist attack. If something on the can bus connects to the internet then it's probably possible to exploit and take control on the can bus.
neil110
I know a friend was seriously Peed off when he found out that his VW was in constant communication with their dealer network. https://www.theverge.com/2016/8/2/12353186/car-hack-jeep-cherokee-vulnerability-miller-valasek
