retropower
I have some discovery axles that I'm fitting to my Range Rover. I know they are roughly '93 vintage but how do I know if they are pre or post JA032850 which is the break point on paddock spares catalogue for the various hub parts? retropower
Edit....would still like to know the differences BUT I found I'd been uncharacteristically organised and kept a copy of the vin for the long dead disco... it's MA so later stuff
Snagger
I think that may be when they changed from thick to thin hubs (wheel bearings closer together), thinner drive flanges and much thinner half shafts. The early diffs were 10spline, the later 24. The old stuff is stronger.
miketomcat
I think the JA change was from imperial to metric but that maybe earlier. Certainly the first few years of disco were imperial (fat drive flanges that's part of the half shaft). Mike
