backstop
Anyone go to the Adventure Overland show at Stratford last year (2016)? I went the previous 2 years and was a little disappointed in 2015. This year it's a choice between the LRO show at Peterborough the weekend before, or The AO show. My primary (Landy) interest is overlanding and wild camping. Always on the lookout for interesting gear, improvements on old ideas or seminars on useful subjects. Anyone got experience of both shows and can give me an opinion on which might be the best use of the fuel? I have to travel from Inverness. mmgemini
Well I doubt that overlanding and wild camping will feature at the LRO show. That's why I will be at Stratford
Snagger
Billing is all about galvanised bolt-ons and suspension lifts. It has been the same for a decade and has nothing for those with rare vehicles or who want to do anything other than fit aggressive accessories. I used to go because it was quite nearby, but was always disappointed. I'm looking forward to AO - at least it will be a bit different and a bit more cerebral.
landrover598
I went to AO last year for the first time, spent less than an hour looking around "the show", its more of a social gathering than a show in my opinion. Its good for looking at peoples rigs for ideas though as there is a huge variety of vehicles attending as campers. Plenty of talks and demos going on which helped kill the rest of the day.
honitonhobbit
I have a 'Stand' again. More of a social center than a stand; and not for teetotalers. Drop in if you want. It'll be under the Budget Overland banner

Tobias
Seriously thinking of going. As I'll be flying in, I doubt I will be camping. Would it be feasible to come walking/taxi and camp with a ground tent? T
FridgeFreezer
As usual it clashes with Seven Sisters so I'll be actually doing some adventuring instead
