Andrew N
Taken the front propshaft off my 300tdi Defender to replace a UJ, but I can't identify the spider I've taken off. From what I've read it should be 75mm, 83mm or 95mm across - mine seems to be about 91mm. Any ideas what it is and where I might find a replacement? Ex Member
It is not a stock u-joint so you would need to measure up everything carefully and figure out the size or take it to a shop that does driveline work to figure it out. You need the cap diameter and the cap width as precisely as possible.

Andrew N
Problem solved. It seems I have a wide-angle front propshaft (TVB100610G) which uses the "95mm" UJ spiders (STC4807), which are in fact not 95mm at all but 92mm. Allow for a bit of wear and tear and that matches the one I took out.
