2.25 D Janspeed turbo

Don't do it.  The normally aspirated diesels have a compression ratio of 23:1,  the Tubodiesel had 21:1 with reinforced pistons and bigger bearings, but still cracked pistons and heads with alarming regularity, gaining a woeful reputation.  The 10J won't last long at all with a turbo on it.

If you must upgrade and a 12J 2.5 nad isn't enough, then look at a Tdi.  Don't even bother with the 19J turbodiesel; you'd soon regret it even if you found a good one.

We drove our Series Hybrid for many years with a turbo bolted onto the 2.25 diesel (5 bearing) We abused the poor thing for 18 years with that engine & turbo and replaced it with a 2.5 N/A because we eventually drowned it one time too much..

It is not the best of mods and to do it properly takes quite a bit of work...

Personally, I'd not do it again and either fit a 2.5 N/A - very nice conversion - or a 200 / 300 Tdi - a lot more work.

Bon Courage
