eastw77
Hi I have purchased a Hawkeye unit for my 1996 Discovery 1. I can't for the life of me find where to plug it in, does anyone have any idea where you do it?
sierrafery
At the bottom of fascia above the clutch pedal close to the gearboxl tunnel, if it's just a hole there open the lid and search in that area cos it used to snap from the fixing and fall behind it

FridgeFreezer
I didn't realise there was anything on a Disco 1 that could talk diagnostics, you just hit it with hammers until it works surely?

Potentially ABS?
Bowie69
There is diagnostics for the EFI, think the plug is behind the glovebox, or in the kick panel.
sierrafery
Starting from '96 all the D1's had OBD port, on 300tdi was used for EDC, ABS, SRS and alarm module diagnostics and programming, on those without EDC and without ABS was used only for SRS and alarm but it's there on all, copy from the '96 D1 electric troubleshooting manual: Edited September 11, 2017 by sierrafery
Ally V8
It was a bit of a mess around 1995-96, as said the D1 gained the 16 pin socket for TA (1996my) but right through until the DII came out the V8 petrol models always had a separate socket for the 14CUX engine ecu.(5 pin,but I think only 3 were used) I also seem to remember that the early diesel ones,(1995,MA Chassis) used a separate plug for EGR diagnostics, although I never used it, but the separate SRS and ABS plugs were in frequent use.All the connectors were part of the T4 Testbook kit I bought in 2003 - £10700 with the Vat as I remember... doctor
I have a hawkeye for 97 tdi to find faults on abs and security alarms ,very helpful for air gaps but you would get more out of it on later models but can update when needed. Plug in drivers side with right colour adapter. Edited September 12, 2017 by doctor
