Electronic immobilisation

It's simple, you need the EKA code to remobilise it ... then find and fix the fault, maybe if you'll explain with more details how the issue started and what's the symptom i could tell you more but i can't guess based on this cryptic message... i want and i'm confidentr that i can help you but i need an exhaustive description of the fault, any small detail can be relevant when it comes to immobilisation issues

If the 2 vehicles are the same spec, you can take the bcu, with a matched remote key and engine ecu from the working vehicle and it should start the other car.  Unfortunately, the mileage is stored in the bcu and the instrument binnacle and if the 2 values don't match, the odometer will flash (if you have the whole car you could swap the instrument binnacle over).  You can tell the bcu to update to fix the flashing odometer but it will take the higher of the 2 mileages as far as i know. If the car isn't responding to the remote key, have you tried a new remote receiver in the headlining?

Thanks guys.

A couple of months ago I bought a Disco for spares on Ebay as I needed and engine for mine but it turned out that the engine was knackered also. So I bought another one last week that has the immobilisation issue. Not got the car yet but I certainly have all the electronics to sort it out like ECU' Keys and BCU's so should hopefully be the case of swithching the bits over.

To swap ECUs you need a tester anyway cos even if the engine ECU is paired with the BCU the engine's injector codes must be saved and the BCU must have the exact same settings, if the odometer error warning is disabled in the BCU the instrument pack will keep it's mileage as it is and it will not flash Don't play with BCUs if you dont know exactly what to do cos if you immobilise it and you dont know the EKA code you'll have to pay to specialist to unlock it or you can bin it.... a main dealer can give you the EKA code FOC if you dont know it based on the VIN and ownership prove

The vehicle will run quite happily with the wrong injector codes for the purposes of testing, although it is obviously best to programme the correct codes for prolonged use.

If you have a working remote key matched to that specific bcu, there is no reason why it should end up immobilised.  Take the eka for the vehicle the bcu was originally fitted to and keep it with whichever vehicle it ends up in.

If the vehicle spec differs it can all be programmed later anyway, the vehicle will still run, the only bit that matters is whether its auto/manual.
