Maverik
I've been looking through some old posts but can't really find my answer. Is it possible to fit a Defender Td5 fuel gauge without the speedo head unit? Cheers Mav
western
Yep, just connect direct to the signal wire from tank sender, that's how mine is connected, plus the existing earth & 12v feed from old fuel gauge. all the bit in the speedo does is meant to do is switch on the low fuel light when level gets to about 10 litres & dampens the gauge so it doesn't wave about, not going via my td5 speedo hasn't made the gauge wave around, my low fuel light is direct from sender unit too. Maverik
Interesting, thats good to hear. I'm looking to try get rid of the whole flashing low fuel light issue when the tank starts to get low it's driving me crackers, but with yours being a 110 I guess you dont have that problem in the first Instance. western
mine does flash when low I just ignore it until the gauge is close or in the orange section. you can always leave the low fuel disconnected
