tommobot
So as I said I've got the seats in. I've got brackets on the way and hopefully fit them over the weekend. The seats are in, except the brackets and springs circled on the image below. Even without this, the seat does not fall backwards, but it does fall forwards as I think the bracket grabs the brass sleve. So essentially at the moment there is 1 small bolt into either side of the rear upright section of the chair, which mounts it to the frame. What on earth stops the seat from falling back further, and what stops it from breaking if a huge person puts a massive load on it!? It all seems very, very fragile!? Retroanaconda
Does it not sit against the tabs on the centre seat?
Retroanaconda
Ah, just realised you are talking about the backs falling backwards. I think there are rubber buffers at the bottom that they sit against, at the rear of the seat base cushion.
Ed Poore
I think from memory the seat back hits against another tab (might be centre seat based) which takes the strain rather than spring. Beaten to it by James.
western
rubber buffers under my back seat upright part, will go take a photo.
western
a few more photo's that may help. the rubber bobbins to support back rest from going further rearwards, [these are actually exhaust pipe bobbin mounts meant for a mini, they were the only thing I could find, one of the stud plates is removed. the plate on centre seat frame the outer seat frame sits on & the outer seat face that sits on the plate a view of underneath the outer seat to show outer & centre seats in normal position. the step plate the outer side of outer seat sits on in normal position. tommobot
Excellent! That's a great help.. it's a right ball ache when there's not a great deal of info to go on, so thanks for the help! Final query, the bolt that the seatbelt fixes to under the arch, I thought it would be a captive nut. There's a bolt with a nut instead, in the stupidest place to put a nut as you can get a spanner on it.. looks like I'll be cutting the edges of a spanner unless im missing a trick!?
western
if you mean the bolts for the bracket [No6 on diagram] at front of wheel arch, they are bolts/nuts should be easy to get a socket on the nut end. the seatbelt bolt screws into a captive welded on nut at item 6. tommobot
It appears that the issue was rather using the correct M12 seatbelt bolt, someone had put a M10 bolt through the hole with a nut on the reverse, obviously making it very difficult to remove. 🤔 Anyway, nearly there now. The springs on the side of the seat are no longer available anywhere, would a kind soul be able to roughly measure the length and diameter for me...🙄
western
I can check mine tomorrow when in from work. spring number is mtc6801
western
The RH outer seat back latch spring with rule next to it. when top lever is moved rear to unlatch the seatback the hole centres move to approx 80mm apart. hopefully you can find a suitable item, HTH
western
I couldn't take a photo with rule next to spring in extended mode cos I don't have enough hands to hold 3 things at once.

tommobot
Right, I've made progress.. I think I've got the 2 outers sussed in terms of the brackets to stop them folding forward. The middle seat, this still seems to have the bracket and spring, but what is it fixed to, again I can't see what's stopping it falling forward. The slidey rifle bolt type things restrict this on the outer. Unfortunately this is hidden on the photo below..
western
backrest latch on centre seat is exactly the same as the outer seats. bottom spring clip is in this photo, the longer one is used on my hi back rears as I also have the Trakkers extension brackets to increase hieght of the seat back & it moves it rearward to increase legroom. the short one below but above the spring seat latch is the LR original part. tommobot
So for the middle seat does the latch with the spring mount onto the seat frame, and do without the slider bolt things that the outer seats have..?
western
Yes backrest catch fits the same as on outer seats the slide bolt to keep seat in down position is not required on the centre seat as the outers keep that in place when seats are down ready to be sat on. tommobot
So I think I'm all there. In terms of the seats sitting, they are perfect and the side bolts work.. The backrests have a bit of play in them, unless I redrill the bracket / unless in missing something?
western
Tidy result have you got buffers below the the seat back bottom face, they might need adjusting to get rid of the play.
TMacs90
I'm slowly trying to find parts for seats and seat belts for a 1994 110 300tdi CSW that had the second row seats and pretty much all the floor fixings removed for the seat fixings and seat belts. I'm getting there, but would appreciate some help on this part. The seat belt buckle receiver is a clip type, part number MXC5521, which is in the yellow square in the pic below. Can anyone work out what the part number is for the floor mounted fixing that it clips onto, in the green circle below, or the yellow circles in the other pics? Any help in sousing this part would be greatly appreciated!
western
as all those parts are within the box for item 1 the floor ring is part of the seatbelt fixings that come with the seatbelt, so the floor ring does not have a seperate part number. TMacs90
Yes, that's what I believe too, if you get them from Land Rover. However, if you search anything on line it doesn't show or mention anything about the floor plate and fixings being included. 🤔
