Simon_CSK
I have been taking engines out of my two Discos today basically to make one good one out of the two. On both cars the top off side gearbox bolt was a real pain to crack. The vehicle that I was scraping I ended up having to remove the gearbox to get at the bolt. On my good one I tried to lift the engine off the mounts and lower the gearbox to give me better access but that didn't work. I finally opted to put a short ratchet on it and use a fork lift with a strap round the ratched to shif the bold even that took a great effort to shift it. Once it cracked it was straight forward. Is there a knack or a spacial tool for this bolt? It seemed almost impossible to get off. I know it hasn't been off for at least 5 years (this is the length of time I have owned it)
