FridgeFreezer
After managing to snap a drive flange bolt I've bought 5x new ones but FC110107L is superseded by RYG101010L which is flanged, whereas the old ones weren't and had a split washer (WL110001L) underneath. Can someone tell me if I should fit the washers or not? Vehicle is 1988 127", standard, drum brakes, oil-filled hubs, metric.
ianmayco68
Mines a 1993 200tdi and I’ve got the split washers fitted with them bolts , and I’ve just looked in my Land Rover parts book and they’re listed in there with them bolts and the split washers . Cheers Ian
Bowie69
Unless you loctite them in place, yes you will need them.... Coming to think of it, I think they are loctited on my RRC.... may explain that bit. The bolts may be a different part number, that I couldn't tell you. Personally, if the bolts goes in far enough to torque down properly (i.e. the hole in the hub is deep enough) I would just go with loctite. Retroanaconda
I think the new type come with thread locking compound pre-applied. The ones I bought for my 110's axles certainly did. The old type used spring washers and no thread-lock.
FridgeFreezer
The new bolts are indeed pre-loctited, guess I can go without washers then... and after spending several pence on a set of washers, too!
