quick hello from a disco owner

Hi all.

Just thought it would be polite to say hello.  I am the proud owner of a 94 D1 3.9efi.

I'm a fabricator by trade so if anybody needs welding tips or advice give me a shout.

I have also just had recent experience in changing a zf4hp22 box and torque convertor for a nice shiney one from Ashcroft and I've also got a Ashcroft transfer box in.  I learned the hard way how not to fit them.  So, if you need to know not what to do, give me a shout on that also.

First tip top on changing auto box.

1. Set fire to your Haynes manual.

Welcome, good to have a V8 in the mix!

If you're a fabricator you might head across to the tools & fab section, bound to be some stuff in there to distract you ;)

Taa for the welcome,

Its just a V7 at the moment. It's running like a bag of hammers.    Plugs I think.  Will find out soon

I will definitely  show my face in the tool and fab section.

I might learn something.

Your never to thick to learn.

Or is that old?

Changing a box in the road? Hardcore! ;)

Welcome to the forum... :)

Hardcore lol

That was one of the many lessons I learnt.

Don't change your box in the road.  Had a few close calls with passing cars and my feet sticking out in the road as I was lying on my back getting mouthfuls of ATF . it's a definite no-no.

 It tastes foul.

Thanks for the welcome.  And good luck with the mods on yours.

Well it's not the first V8 to be running on less than 8  there's plenty of common issues that are easily fixed - and a full V8 EFI troubleshooting manual in the Technical Archive section.
