Jase Posted July 31, 2018 Share Posted July 31, 2018 Hi All,I'm in the process of overhauling by power steering box on my 1996 Discovery 1 300Tdi. I've replaced the sector shaft bearing in the housing. Does anyone know what the specified diameter of the sector shaft is. Mine measures 31.65mm. My calculations based on the bearings is that it should be 31.73mm (bearing ID is 31.75mm).I've been advised hard chroming or steel spray will peel off so I've found a place (In Johannesburg, South Africa) that can weld it back to spec (Applied Welding, www.appliedwelding.co.za).
