Dan D90
My defender 90 has had a TD5 conversion, it seems to run OK aside from being very jerky at low revs, i had put this down to oil contamination / injector loom. There was a small amount of oil in ECU plug. However after removing the ECU I noticed it is a disco one : MSB101181. It seems like the temp gauge also works in reverse. Can the wrong ecu cause the jerky issue or would there be other issues if the ecu was not correct? It is going to the garage once I have put it back together but the more info I can give them the better! Should I be worried about the ecu? Is it worth looking for a defender one in the mean time or consider getting it remapped? Is the temp gauge issue fixable? thanks Dan
ballcock
Could the temp issue be the problem? I would presume the ecu doesn't care what vehicle it is in unless it has been wired wrongly.
