starting problem

Recommended Posts

I have a 2013 90.  Gets very little use apart from between September and February.  Recently tried to start it but no joy, not a sound.  I jumped it and all good.  As I drove it a short distance the red alarm light remained on so decided to return to base.  The fob would not work so locked with the key. Tried second new fob, no joy.  Next day tried again this time it turned, part fired then stopped.  Tried several times eventually it started.  Drove if for 20miles all good. Next day it would fire then stop.  I tried jumping again but same issue. Turns but will not keep engine running.

total novice and know zilch about motor vehicles  any ideas apart from roadside rescue?

I’d also agree that battery is goosed. Sounds like it’s not holding any charge even after the 20 mile run. And the truck probably needs a good run out to clear it. A good service wouldn’t go a miss if it’s not had one. 👍

Thank you.  Been away.  Yes with battery dead.  Replaced but then had to use EKA code to re-mobilize engine tonight.  All good started up, all lights out as they should be but now imobilizer/fob doesn't work.  Changed battery on that but no joy on either fob.  Any thoughts.
