Landrover freelander 1.8 petrol 2001 cooland leak from behind bottom flywheel.

Recommended Posts

Hiya,

Coolant is pouring out from around the bottom-most belt wheel (see image attached) on Freelander 1.8 petrol 2000 K Series.

Empties coolant expansion tank in seconds.

Any advice, including crushing, most welcomed!

It's been a while but is the water pump driven from the cambelt and therefore leaking into the cambelt cover and pouring out of the bottom?

Are you sure it's coming from the pulley hole or is it running down from further up?

Thanks for replies guys. Have taken off belky pan and now cam cover. Looks dry in cam belt housing, but it does appear to be coming from a little higher up than pulley hole.

Going to go the water pump route and hope for tbe best!
