I suspect he presumed you were asking about the engines, rather than the master cylinders.

As far as I'm aware it's pretty much the same master cylinder unit through the entirety of 90/110 Defender production. Some changes were made to the pedal box and the plumbing over the time. Tdci may be different as I've never taken one of those apart but certainly everything I've seen from the early 4cyl up to and including Td5 has been the same.

Slave cylinders do vary, as you will know.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that Trident racing supplies in Silverstone sells girling master cylinders which look identical to landrover ones, and have 3 different bore sizes.

Could be worth a punt:
