Jocklandjohn
Just got a pair of 'Bluebox' crystal headlamps and a Landreiziger loom to upgrade the wiriing when I fit them. At this point I have NOT dismantled my existing headlamps or got ina about them for a look. Whats puzzling me is the additional bulb in the new crystal headlamp - small one at the top with two wires (see picture) which I do not have on the existing headlamps which only have a bulb in the middle. I'm guessing this is a really stupid question to which there is an obvious and totally logical answer, which when I am told it I will slap my forehad and go DUH! ianmayco68
It’s the side light John , there’s 2 types of headlight bowls one with the side light as your new ones that Land Rover fitted to the SVX 90 that they did a while ago , I believe and possibly others . And with out like your old ones which is fitted normally to Defenders , you could wire it up to your side lights or leave it unused I’d imagine . miketomcat
It's the side light bulb for minis and other cars with 7" headlights. It's not used on a land rover but you can wire it in. It means the blue box company have been cheap and not bought lr specific headlights. Mike

I may wire it up - the more visible I am the better I reckon!
ianmayco68
They wire up a similar pair in the new project binky , and I think the side lights are a lot better. Thinking of getting a set for my 110 as I’ve got led headlights fitted at the minute and I don’t like them .
western
Got the Wipac version on my 110, I wired the small side lights direct to the existing side lights, I also disabled the dim dip system as the box for that is unreliable
