ianmayco68
Hi all , looking for recommendations on a decent brake line flaring tool as it’s coming to that time on the project , don’t mind spending a bit as long as it’s easy to use and does a good job . Have done a search on here but no joy so any help much appreciated. Cheers Ian Edited November 8, 2018 by ianmayco68
Stellaghost
Been using a one from machine mart for several years with no problems also take it with me when offroading as have damaged pipes in the past packed in a small plastic case think they are around £
Cynic-al
I have the handheld version of the sykes pickervant flaremaster 2. I got the kit with the bending, cutting & deburring tool included. You can get different tooling for different pipe sizes and flare shapes. mat2495
I upgraded from a cheapy one to the same as Cynic-al mentioned, and found it much easier to get consistent quality flares out of it. Not cheap, but nice to have
Blanco
I had a cheapy and managed to break it.... ended up with this style fleabay which is idiot proof and small enough to get in above axles and hard to reach areas.
ianmayco68
Cheers all , brought one of the cheaply ones when I rebuilt the 110 and it was rubbish , that flaremaster 2 looks a good bit of kit , although pricey , will have to see what pennies I have left after rebuilding the axles . If funds are tight then one like blanco uses will be the order of the day . cheers all Ian
Cynic-al
It's one of those things which is nice to have but you don't use very often, and usually end up lending it to others more than you use it yourself.
ianmayco68
It’s nice to have good quality tools , but sometimes you have to way up usage against price and buy something a bit cheaper just because it makes sense.
L19MUD
I also bit the bullet and bought a flaremaster 2 - it will last a lifetime so worth the money
