Exhaust for project

I've been thinking about the exhaust for my 90 project which is a 300tdi but I've moved the fuel tank to the rear like on td5's so need a non standard one . This is what came off it

It's a stainless steel jobbie and mated up to the standard 300tdi down pipe and if I can use this rather than buy a new one it would save some pennies , I've roughly test fitted the rear pipe today and it looks like it'll fit but as you can see it was a straight through exhaust and there's no back box  . I can remember when the stepson had it fitted and it was load so does anyone know were I could get a stainless steel (preferably) back box so I can cut it and weld it back up .

Cheers Ian

I've got a entire back section off a 110 here (not stainless) but you're welcome to it if we can organise a relay. Ironically drove past you today but didn't have it.

Not sure when I'll next be passing your neck of the woods.

couple of options which could work.

buy a td5 mid pipe and rear box, should bolt upto your current front section. The reason for changing both is the td5 has a 3bolt flange on the rear section.

or fit a 3 bolt flange to your mid pipe and fit a td5 rear box.

this gives you a silencer which fits with the rear tank.

or there is a 300tdi rear pipe which fits with the tank ROW spec, and then you can fit a 300 centre silencer.

Cheers Ed , thank you but seems a shame to cut a brand new one up when someone may be able to put it to better use , plus found quite a few on ebay stainless clamp on ones for about £30 , like this one .

Cheers Jon , have already thought about those options , but as the pipe in the photo above is stainless and still in very good condition I was trying to save some pennies by re-using that and just fitting a back box to it .

Honestly it's sat around for ages and I can't be bothered to even write the post to get rid of it . Having said that I think it was only the clamp that was wrong (2 hole rather than 3 hole) and my current back one is about to fall apart so maybe I'll just lop off the flange and weld the new one in place.

Not even sure what material it is but it's been sat outside in the rain and not rusted up so either a protective coating that hasn't burnt off yet or is stainless...

Now you've made me think about it I think I'll dig it out and take another look! :D

Jon,  none of those work. Td5 mid won’t bolt up to a tdi as the exhaust is approx 3” to one side of the tdi position.

The 300tdi row rear silencer was discontinued by landrover and is not available anywhere. The only way to do it is late 300tdi mid section ESR4526 and td5/puma rear silencer with 135mm adaptor 2 bolt to 3 bolt in between.
