ianmayco68
Hi all , I’m after a new radiator for my project and a firm on eBay is selling a military spec 300tdi radiator and intercooler assembly, does anyone know what the difference is between this and a standard one ? Cheers Ian
Arjan
Not sure what the difference would be, really.. We have never problems with the ones in our - standard LR part.
ianmayco68
I wondered whether they had updated cores over the standard ones as it’s for military use , it’s also got a Land Rover part number PFI100042 and they’re listed on the craddocks website . It’s a radiator and intercooler bundle in frame , did think of asking the sellers but most of them probably wouldn’t have a clue and I thought I’d have more chance of getting a sensible answer off people on here . Farmerfred
When I bought a new rad for my 300TDi I asked about diferences in available radiators for that engine and the answer was 'they are all the same'.
cackshifter
As you say it looks like it's the frame with the rad & intercooler mounted. It's probably the number for the whole assembly rather than just the rad. Ideal for a quick repair if the front end had run into something, like an ambush. dailysleaze
The latest Wolf parts catalogue lists the 300Tdi radiator/intercooler assembly as the same part number the standard 2003-on version (PFI100041). There's no reference to PFI100042 - the only results being the retailers' own websites, so they may know something we don't.
Ed Poore
There is apparently a Saudi spec radiator available (not sure if for the 300Tdi or V8s) as when I was chatting over engines conversions that was what was recommended if chucking in a 6.5l V8 diesel. ianmayco68
I’ve emailed the seller so we’ll see what response I get , but they also sell a standard one , radiator , intercooler in the frame only difference I can see is the rad in.the standard kit has an Ali core going off the photos. So perhaps that’s the difference standard Ali core , military spec brass/copper like the original ones .
