Nope ended up going to a mates to help him clean off his series3 chassis and engine ready to roll it into a garage for an overhaul. Just tried again but its solid. Remember a new copper washer when you put it back in. I suppose, as the oil is coming out, there's no harm in a bit of heat to help it...
