western
Defender spec 200tdi needs temp sender PRC8593 which has a 5/8 unf thread --- https://www.lrdirect.com/PRC8593-Temp.-Transmitter-200Tdi-Black/ Discover & RRC spec 200tdi use the smaller finer thread variant on lrparts.ru it shows 3 variants see photo below
enen
Thanks I have the PRC9917. Its 16Mx1.0. Yet all adapters sold for this are 16Mx1.5 I need to adapt to this female thread to use a different sender for another application. Im just trying to verify what it really is
Snagger
Don't Discoverys and Defenders have senders in different locations, one in the thermostat housing and one in the head? That could be the problem.
Anderzander
I can’t remember this exactly ... but with my discovery 200tdi into my series I struggled to find the right adaptor to take the series sender - and I think it was because of the M16x1.00 thread - and in the end I found there was an OE part : ERC8973, and I bought mine from Steve Parker as it was slightly longer for a better fit. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F303051979995
western
300tdi has a 2nd temp sender on the top of cylinder head for the EGR system, 200 in both Defender & Discovery have the gauge temp sender in thermostat housing.
Snagger
Ah, total mix up on my part, not helped by previously having a 12J and 19J in that vehicle which has a head mounted sender...
