uninformed
Hi all, what are the preferred brand for the swivel ball seal on a stage 1 v8? what to avoid? cheers Serg
mickeyw
I don't know specifically about Stage 1 swivels, but when it comes to seals I always felt that Corteco brand was the one to go for. There are other good names around too, but there are also ones I would avoid, such as Carson for one. Note these are both brands I have first hand experience with, not hearsay.
Gazzar
I think it's the same seal as the standard series three. I buy from EAC, they appear to only offer good stuff.

Cornish Rattler
Paddocks Britpart swivel kits are very good Teflon swivels with BP bearings, seals, bushes and stuff, used them on both my series 2a's and Def90 in the past infact I have fitted one to the 2a I am restoring now although the series kits don't use Teflon swivels but never had a prob with any of them
Gazzar
In fairness the Paddocks kit isn't too bad.

Corteco are what I use. if you get the Britpart swivel kit with the G at the end of the part number is comes with Corteco seals and timken bearings.

That's good to know Stephen. I may be into a swivel rebuild later this year. I wouldn't touch unbranded or regular Britpart bearings with a barge pole. The last BP bearing I opened up was full of swarf!!!!
