neilc
Morning Ive removed my freewheeling hubs as they had stopped "wheeling" (series 3 2.5l swb ) , I have replaced them with fixed hubs and the problem has been solved , I have replaced the castle nut to the point where I can insert and split pin , just a quick question , how tight does the nut have to be? , I don't have any torque equipment , is it worth buying some or is there a cheap way to do it , the wheel bearing needs changing soon anyway so it all needs to come off again , any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks ,
lo-fi
It's 10lbft, if I recall correctly, so really not very tight. Just a nip up to keep it all together and squish the felt a tiny bit. I torque wrench is an essential tool, though. Definitely get one
Snagger
If they had to be much more than finger tight, they'd be a hex or double-hex nut rather than round!
