Badger110 251
7” ? The wife says that’s not a lot of room but I explained it’s engineering 7” which is slightly different than biological 7” and when I showed her on the ruler she asked where I get my biological measurements from as they’re about 3” short

Stellaghost 685
Right, a big drill needs a big vice, I got two when I bought the drill both in a general state of knackeredness. One I have scrapped as beyond sensible redemption the other I've repaired Stripped down You can see the state of the base no intact slots left for fastening down, guess that's the trouble with cast iron Excess trimmed off Put in the lathe and machined down, had to under cut slightly to get rid of broken section damage Next cut some 12mm plate and drilled and countersunk Fixed to base, base swivels so that's a bonus, also cut slots in to match slots in drill bed Put together Vice does not look out of place on drill regards Stephen Edited Thursday at 01:42 PM by Stellaghost Addition

landroversforever 974
Looks great, and shows what can be resurrected with a bit of care and time rather than just slung in the scrap bin.

Yep, spot on the cost of buying a new one is astronomical so way better to restore if possible regards Stephen
Stellaghost 685
A bit more tinkering with drill, it only goes to Morse 3 taper so looking to get to mt4 was not happy with welded on arrangement at chuck so have cut it off to allow me to square it up and also to see which way bearing comes off So bearing comes off away from the chuck which makes life a tad easier as I have a parallel adaptor with a mt4 hole in it So I'm planning on cutting drill shaft down and making a sleeve on the lathe to press onto drill shaft and then press mt4 parallel adaptor into sleeve and weld up so when finished drill will be able to take mt4 drill bits of which I have an abundance hope that makes sense regards Stephen
