300 Tdi Immobilser Question

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

1996 Defender 110 300 Tdi

Alarm key fob no longer working. Have ordered a replacement.

Ignition will not start (red flashing immobilser key warning on dash). Able to enter the 4 digit EKA and successfully start. So all good there.

However, we have a ARM5965 fitted and thought that this would bypass the immobilser.

Is there a fault with the ARM5965 bypass or is there something else needed to bypass the immobilser?

Many Thanks,

Simon...

There is more to this than just the spider.

PM sent.

Do not want to post details in an open forum.

If I remember correctly, the alarm ecu opens the earth path for the starter relay - fixed a non responsive alarm ecu a while back by just earthing the solenoid and job done.
