Conor
Hi, I have a land rover discovery 2 TD5 and every time i want to start it i have to purge it to get it going. Previously I have change the fuel pump and the copper o rings on the injectors however the problem still occurs. If i don't purge the system then it will crank and but wont start. Once I've got it started it ill idle for around 2 or 3 minutes and then cut out. If I hold it at a 1000 revs then it wont cut out until it goes back to idling. Any idea on what the problem could be? bear
Hi, Does your fuel filter housing look the worse for wear? They can go porous and let air into the system. Griff
sierrafery
Change the air bleed valve in the rear outer port of the filter head (WJN500110)
Maverik
Also didn't the D2 have a recall on some fuel pipes rubbing on each other and creating a hole in the pipe?

Yes, but that was the high pressure "green pipe" and a leak would be more obvious I think. Griff

Griff That's interesting. Is there an easy way to check this?
bear
I think it's more of a good inspection of it , and some folks have changed it as a last resort when trying everything else and failed. Griff
