Arjan
Goede Middag ! As the proud owner of a Series Hybrid, bushes play a role from time to time in the workshop. I had an original "Bushwaka" to press out & in the bushes and it worked fine. Made the mistake to lent it out and it vanished.... So... Are they still around ? Suggestions for an alternative ? I tried some SHD treadbar and they failed....
lo-fi
Was just talking about this in another thread actually. You need an acme thread for that kind of job. Preferably one that's designed as a "forcing screw" and comes with a thrust bearing. Old scissor jacks are a good inexpensive source. Add a piece of pipe and a washer the right size and you're pretty much in business
Arjan
Thanks for the reply.. Excuse my ignorance, but what is a " acme thread " please ?
FridgeFreezer
Just now, Arjan said: Excuse my ignorance, but what is a " acme thread " please ? It's used for attempting to drop an anvil on a Road Runner from the top of a cliff I believe
lo-fi
With emphasis on attempting. It never works... Pesky bird... Its a trapezoidal thread form commonly used in high load applications: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trapezoidal_thread_form
